Valerie Clark is not only surviving in the wake of disaster — she’s thriving. In the fall of 2024, Clark’s Florida home was destroyed in Hurricanes Milton and Helene. In a matter of days, she lost everything, including precious family heirlooms and sentimental keepsakes. Since then, Clark and her daughter have been fighting to rebuild while living in an Airbnb. Despite it all, Clark, 60, is grateful to have a roof over her head, a supportive community, and above all, her health.
As a Lifeforce member since late 2023, Clark has been pouring her time and dedication into optimizing her holistic health — and it’s paid off. She now has the energy, strength, and vitality she needs to face hardship head on.
“Going through a natural disaster is the most stressful thing. Having the physical and mental strength to find inner joy is essential to facing those challenges,” says Clark, who works as a book and film agent. “If you're not coming from a bolstered, centered, supported place, you would throw in the towel. That was never an option for me. I’m like, ‘I got this.’ I feel so good about myself. Even with the most horrible things happening in my day, it doesn’t affect me as much because I have that center every day. I would not have had that without Lifeforce. It’s been miraculous.”
Clark shares her Lifeforce journey with us, plus the simple shifts that have helped her look and feel decades younger.
On overcoming illness...
I’ve been committed to health and fitness since I was 9 years old. I’ve exercised and eaten healthy my whole life. About 6 years ago, I became very sick. I went to about 80 different doctors all over the world to figure out what was happening. Everyone was telling me they couldn’t help me, but it was actually something simple. I had low blood sugar to the point where I was in a diabetic coma on and off for four years and nearly died. After advocating for myself, a doctor prescribed a medication that worked for me, and through trial and error, I finally found the right dose. I stabilized my sugar, but I still felt sick every day until my Lifeforce Clinician Jennfier Sexton, PA-C, stepped in.
On optimizing her hormones...
Not one of the 80 doctors I saw before I found Lifeforce tested my hormones. In my initial biomarker tests, I was nearly flatline for testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen. Now my levels are all in optimal range. My clinician put me on DHEA, and the sun came out within two weeks. I started to feel like myself again. It was dramatic. Throughout my Lifeforce journey, my levels went from 31.9 ug/dl in DHEA to 146 ug/dl. I had never heard of DHEA before, but I learned from Jennifer that it’s the building blocks for hormones. It was pivotal for me.
On small shifts making a big impact...
I also started taking Omega and Vitamin D+K. With just a little bit of intervention from natural supplements, I turned a corner and the results were palpable within days. My vitamin D levels and anemia were always an issue on bloodwork. Other doctors said, ‘It’s just who you are.’ But I learned it’s not. It can be fixed. With Lifeforce, my vitamin D levels doubled from 24.5 ng/mL to 50.9 ng/mL.
On her skyrocketing energy levels...
My energy levels are stratospheric! I have a lot going on in my life, and I never would be able to face my day energy-wise without the help of Lifeforce. Not only do I face it, I surpass it. I wake up at 6 a.m. every day and I’m full force every minute. It’s amazing what these shifts have done for my body.
On staying dedicated to fitness...
In my 20s and 30s, I worked out two hours a day, six days a week. When the nightmare with my illness started to creep in, my workouts were getting less and less. Now I’m back to working out two hours a day. Every morning, I do 30 minutes of cardio with my stair master and stationery bike, then I do an hour-and-a-half of weight training. I fell in love with strength training from a young age. I also power walk, swim, and dance.
On feeling decades younger...
At the beginning of this journey, it felt dire. I was asking, “Can you help me get through this day?” Now I’m asking, “How can I build on this? What’s the next level?” It’s like I’m turning back the hands of time. I feel, look, and act younger. I feel the same as I did when I was 28! On the weekends, I’m ready to hit the beach in a bikini. I look really good in a bathing suit at 60!
On connecting with her Lifeforce team...
When I talk to my Lifeforce clinician, her first question is always, “How’s the house? How are you doing?” If you walk into a doctor’s office, they’re not going to ask that. There’s no personal stake. They have about three minutes, and then they have to move on to the next person. They don’t dive deep. That’s not the Lifeforce relationship. That’s not the Lifeforce journey. My Lifeforce clinician and dedicated health coach are on this journey with me, and their joy for me is palpable. I’m not a client. I’m a person. To have success, you have to have a relationship with your clinician, and that’s what Lifeforce creates.
On focusing on longevity and holistic health...
Lifeforce’s focus on longevity is the biggest thing for me. With every decision and every supplement, we’re looking at things from a holistic level. That’s where the magic is. Lifeforce is constantly looking at the bigger constellation of being healthy, youthful, and energetic. It’s much bigger than just going to the doctor for checkups. It’s very forward thinking, and I feel privileged to be a part of it.
